Armed conflicts in the DR Congo: impact on the population, prevention options (FR)

Armed conflicts in the DR Congo: impact on the population, prevention options (FR)

Friday, 22 March, 2024

The aim of this workshop is to provide a holistic analysis of the impact of violent conflicts in DR Congo (whether in the east or west of the country), in order to explore possible solutions for protecting the population and preventing the factors that jeopardise their security. We will have the opportunity to hear the testimonies of recognised players in Congolese civil society, rooted in the very communities affected by the dynamics of conflict.

With a view to strengthening dialogue between European and Congolese civil society, this workshop will be an opportunity to pool and debate our respective analyses and recommendations on the security and humanitarian emergency in the DR Congo.

The aim of the meeting will be to work together to find answers to the following questions:

  • What are the consequences of the conflicts on the Congolese people and how can we guarantee their protection?
  • How can we address the multiple causes of insecurity, both in our observations and in our demands, and ensure their prevention?
  • What role could and should different regional and international players play?
  • How can we develop joint, coherent and effective advocacy at several levels?
  • Organised by: Caritas International, CJP Belgium, Cordaid, Entraide et Fraternité, EurAc, 11.11.11
