Brune Mercier

Brune Mercier is the Director for the European Network for Central Africa (EurAc) since September 2017. She is responsible for the strategic development of the network, coordination and monitoring of all the activities implemented by the secretariat; she also represents the organization with the various external actors.

She holds a Master's degree in "Conflict Analysis and Peacebuilding" from Sciences Po Lyon (France). Brune has extensive experience in conflict prevention, conflict resolution, gender, peace and security and the protection of civilians in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where she worked from 2010 to 2017, particularly in Kinshasa, Bukavu and Goma. In particular, she was responsible for program monitoring and evaluation; development and implementation of advocacy strategies, as well as the support and coordination of Congolese civil society partners when working with various organizations including International Alert, Search For Common Ground and the United Nations Organization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Stabilization in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO). She has also carried out numerous missions to assess protection needs and human rights violations in areas affected by the conflict in the South Kivu Province.
